Research Description:

The Carlucci lab research interests are aimed to develop novel radiopharmaceuticals for targeted diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Our strategy is to combine small targeting biomolecules with positron-emitting or therapeutic radioisotopes. We characterize molecular profiles of cancer using noninvasive nuclear imaging, identify metabolic key targets and treat tumors specifically with targeted radiotherapy. Our ultimate goal is to clinically unravel the potential of molecular imaging and combine it with the therapy potential of nonstandard nuclides.
