Rashel Jacobo
Bio:
My name is Rashel Jacobo and I am an incoming molecular pharmacology student first year
graduate student. I have a background with biochemistry and chemistry based research,
synthesizing glycopolymer based antivirals with a focus on HIV and SARS-CoV-2. Additionally,
I had a summer program experience working with Dr. Steven Dubinett, investigating the
mechanism of all-trans retinoic acid on non-small cell lung cancer to help overcome resistance to
anti-PD1 therapy. I would like to continue to explore cancer research during graduate school.
My current research interests include immunotherapy and small molecule inhibitor development
as new possible cancer treatments. I am also interested in investigating the molecular
mechanisms of resistant cancers. My hobbies outside of the lab include cooking and baking,
watching movies and TV shows, painting, and reading.
